It's the intermediates that were missing. For MDT/OCL we started build against interim and nightly to avoid last minute discovery of Xtext API evolution.

It would be helpful if EMF provided I-builds of 'API' changes such as https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=396842 so that that too could be investigated earlier.
