Re: [egit-dev] Version of EGit in Luna SR2

let's stick to 3.4.2 in order to not risk anything that late in the game.
Those who want a newer version can choose to update to 3.5.3 or 3.6.2 any time.

I personally do not have an opinion on "what" you do ... but, do have an opinion on "when" you do it.

As Matthias is well aware .. because he reads my bugzilla responses so carefully :)
I've explain the "criteria" recently, several weeks ago, in https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=456947#c11

So, if you do decide you want a "minor update" in SR2, suggest you decide quickly, and ask for a respin of RC1.

That'd be my preference, but am sure other things could be worked out, if there really was a need for the good of Eclipse's Sim. Release and wide spread consensus (including Planning Council).
Maybe it's just me, but I don't sleep well, when there are "last minute changes in plans"  ... especially when the "rules of engagement" have been well documented and recently explained.

Thanks for raising the issue for discussion, in any case.

I have noticed that Luna SR2 builds contain EGit 3.4.2, while the latest version is 3.6.1. Some of the other projects include feature-bearing minor releases in the simrel service releases. Only releases with breaking changes are not allowed in a simrel service release. Would it be possible to include the latest version of EGit in Luna SR2? This will help to ensure that more EGit users are running the latest version.

we could update to 3.6.2 which I just tagged and will announce later today
(3.6.1 has a regression hence we shouldn't use that).

EGit users/adopters: can we get some more opinions on this proposal ?
