Re: [egit-dev] Fw: Update sites broken

Yes, it did (we were using http://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates-3.1 in one of our builds, and that was only one I checked ... but it "worked" just fine).

I created composite repositories for the moved p2 repositories in the egit
download area pointing to the repositories which I moved to the archive server.
Please check if this works for your builds

Hmm, it is just me, or does "reply to" for EGit list not reply to the list?

Maybe I pressed wrong button ... but meant to send this to list.
Thanks,

And, when we do archive repositories, the best way to do it is to leave a "composite" in its place, and have the children "point to" (via http) the repo on "archives". This way, it takes very little space on "downloads" but doesn't break anyone's build. This is especially true for "released" builds. p2 makes it very easy to have this sort of "immutable" repository (both contents and location).

Let me know if this isn't clear, or you need help understanding what I mean.

Some of our builds started failing because the update sites (which still have their plugins and features) no longer have p2 information:

Bug 437389 - http://download.eclipse.org/egit/updates-3.1/ missing p2 info

Traditionally, even though we archive builds to
archive.eclipse.org we don't normally archive update sites.
