Yes, I think it's a great way to go.  At the start of the Mylyn project we only had Eclipsepedia-documentation, since we found wikis to be such an effective authoring and contribution tool.  Part of the reason we undertook the WikiText effort was to ensure we didn't have to give that it up in order to provide Eclipse Help contents.
