Here is the announcement from the Modeling EMFT project:

We would like to announce the creation of the following new EMFT components.

Ecore Diagram Component
http://wiki.eclipse.org/Ecore_Tools

The Ecore Tools component will provide a complete environment to create, edit and maintain Ecore models. This component will ease handling of Ecore models with a Graphical Ecore Editor and bridges to other existing Ecore tools (Validation, Search, Compare, Emfatic, generators...). The Graphical Ecore Editor will provide multi-diagram support, a custom tabbed properties view, validation feedbacks, refactoring capabilities, etc. The long-term goal is to provide the same level of services as does JDT for Java.

All votes were +1. We will be adding David Sciamma, Jacques Lescot, and Gilles Cannenterre as EMFT committers.

Servus Component
wiki: http://wiki.eclipse.org/Servus

The main purpose of the Servus component is to promote EMF to a central role in the design and evolution of Web Services. The component will provide bidirectional mappings between Ecore based models and Web Services artifacts, such as WSDL descriptions, Web Services client stubs and Web Services server skeletons. This will enable developers to design and evolve Web Services while being assisted by Ecore-based models which will help keeping all artifacts consistent.

All votes were +1. We will be adding Thiago Tonelli Bartolomei as an EMFT committer.

Emfatic Component
wiki: http://wiki.eclipse.org/Emfatic

Emfatic is a text editor supporting navigation, editing, and conversion of Ecore models, using a compact and human-readable syntax similar to Java. The EPLed Emfatic now hosted at EMFT extends the Feb 2005 alphaworks release with support for EMF Generics, folding, "red squigglies", an EMF Type Hierarchy, hyperlinks, AutoEdits, and the possibility to define templates to speed up document creation, among other usability features. The best way to gain hands-on experience with Emfatic is to right-click on any .ecore file and choose "Generate Emfatic source", a similar converter works in the opposite direction. Online help is also available.

All votes were +1. We will be adding Miguel Garcia and Chris Daly as EMFT committers.

Thanks,

Ed Merks
