[eclipse.org-membership-at-large] Technology Project Declaration: The JSR220-ORM Project

As per the Eclipse Development Process, we are notifying the Eclipse
Membership-at-Large of the intent of Versant to propose the JSR220-ORM
Project as part of the Technology PMC.
A brief description of the project is below. A project proposal will be
posted on www.eclipse.org <http://www.eclipse.org/> in a week or so.

*Project Declaration for "The JSR220-ORM Project"*
The JSR220-ORM project will focus on tooling fully integrated with
Eclipse that is needed to manage complex JSR 220/243 projects involving
large numbers of user defined classes. Where feasible, in full support
of the JSR 220/243 specifications, it will be the goal of this project
to produce output from the tooling that will work with any specification
compliant runtime.
This project is based on the continuation of the past three years of
work on an existing JSR 220/243 commercial implementation that is
already integrated with Eclipse and is to be contributed (source,
documentation, tests) as open source to this project.
After incubation, this project intends to move into the Data Tools
Platform (DTP) PMC.
