[eclipse.org-membership-at-large] VoiceXML Project

All,

The Eclipse Voice Tools Technology Project is being proposed as a development environment for voice applications based on W3C standards (such as VoiceXML w/SSML, SRGS, and CCXML), expected to include end-to-end tools for the design, authoring, and testing of voice applications.  The initial contribution to this project from IBM will be markup editors for each of these XML-based document types, based on the SSE framework from the Web Tools Platform Project.  These editors will provide validation and content-assistance for the syntax of the XML-based documents, as well as a preference page and new file wizard for each document type.  In addition to this "seeding" of the project with standard markup editors, several other members of the VoiceXML community have committed to contributing to the future growth and direction of this project towards the creation of tools for the entire voice application development cycle.
