Eclipse Foundation Members,

A proposal has been made to establish an Eclipse Long Term Support Industry Working Group [1].  The goal of the Long Term Support (LTS) Industry Working Group (IWG) is to enable the Eclipse ecosystem to consume and provide maintenance and support for the full breadth of Eclipse technologies. SAP, EclipseSource, CA, IBM, and others have all expressed interest in participating this industry working group.

The proposed charter [2]  for this working group is available for review.   If you have any comments or feedback on the proposed charter, or are interested in participating, please send to lts-iwg@xxxxxxxxxxx. (NOTE: you will have to subscribe to the list before posting.)  All Members of the Eclipse Foundation are invited to join and participate in this working group.  Based on the feedback and level of interest, the working group will be officially created in May 2012.

A proposal has been made to establish an Eclipse Polarsys Industry Working Group [1].  The goal of the Eclipse Polarsys Industry Working Group will be to collaboratively define, build and maintain open source tools for safety-critical and embedded system development in demanding engineering domains, such as aerospace, defense and security, transportation, energy, healthcare, telecommunications. Airbus, Thales, CEA List, Ericsson, OBEO and others have all expressed interest in participating this industry working group.

Hello everyone,

The  Spring 2011 Training Series start date is just around the corner, be sure to register soon . [1]

These training classes are an excellent opportunity for software developers

and architects to learn more about Eclipse Rich Client Platform (RCP),

Eclipse Equinox, OSGi and Modeling technologies. Eclipse experts will lead

the sessions, providing practical experience through classroom instruction

and hands-on labs. Virtual and on-site classes have been scheduled in

several countries from April 25 to May 27, 2011.

Be sure to register early. Some of the training classes have limited space.
