Eclipse Training Series The Eclipse Foundation, in partnership with Eclipse member companies, is offering a series of fall training classes. The virtual and onsite instructor-led, hands-on classes will be held from October 17 to November 25, and feature technologies such as Eclipse RCP, Equinox, BIRT, and modeling. Eclipse Members' Meeting The quarterly Eclipse Members' Meeting will be Friday, September 29, at 11:30am EDT (15:30 UTC) via GoToMeeting at this URL. The meeting will include an important segment on how Eclipse 4.x (currently 4.2) will affect our members. An agenda will be posted on the members mailing list in mid-September. |

Changes to Eclipse Bylaws The recently proposed revisions to the Eclipse Foundation Bylaws were voted on and approved, with 224 voting "yes," and 5 voting "no." The changes went into effect on August 15, 2011. The revised Bylaws have been published on the Governance page on the eclipse.org site. Below is a summary of the Bylaw changes:- Replace the annual Roadmap with an annual community report
- Eliminate the Membership Committee. Make the IP Advisory Committee a Standing Committee
- Delete the Requirements Council
- Put the Architecture Council in charge of future revisions of the Eclipse Development Process
- Delete the requirement for there to be a ratio of Strategic Consumers to Strategic Developers
- Remove the requirement that the AGM be in Q1
- Allow for flexibility in covering expenses
- Sustaining Member board reps need to be a Sustaining Member
- One committer one vote; the total number of candidates from the same organization may not exceed one-half of the total number of seats available for that year's annual at-large election
