FOUNDATION UPDATES


NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN FOR BOARD ELECTIONS

Nominations are now open for the Eclipse Board of Directors. As a reminder, positions for Committer and Sustaining Member representatives are elected annually. The individuals holding these elected positions play a significant role in the governance of our community.

Nominations close on January 31 and voting begins on February 21. Winners will be announced at Eclipse Converge on Monday, March 20.

To nominate, send us an email; self-nominations are encouraged.

PROGRAM ANNOUNCED FOR ECLIPSE CONVERGE

The first program for Eclipse Converge is here and it is full of great talks and tutorials! Thanks to everyone who submitted, and congratulations to the speakers.

Eclipse Converge is a new event for the Eclipse community. It is a one-day summit dedicated exclusively to Eclipse technologies, with the goal of allowing our North American developer community to meet and share ideas.

Converge attendees receive a discount when adding Devoxx US to their Eclipse Converge registration. To register for Eclipse Converge, go to the registration page!

ECLIPSE IOT DAY IN SAN JOSE 2017

The Eclipse IoT Working Group is pleased to announce the Eclipse IoT Day San Jose 2017. The one day event will take place on March 20 at the San Jose Convention Center, in co-location with Eclipse Converge and Devoxx US.

The focus of the event is open source and open standards for building IoT solutions. Attendees will learn about the software needed to build devices, gateways, and IoT cloud platforms.

The agenda is packed with great speakers from companies including, Bosch SI, Deutsche Telekom, Eurotech, Intel, IOTRACKS, MicroEJ, Red Hat and Samsung. They will be covering a wide range of IoT topics, from Industry 4.0 and fog computing for devices at the edge, to smart homes and more!

UPDATE ON PROPOSALS SUBMITTED TO FEEP RFP

Thank you to everyone who submitted a proposal to the FEEP RFP that was run in December. We received seven proposals, which are being evaluated now, and contracts will be awarded over the next few days. The winning proposals will be announced on the ide-dev@xxxxxxxxxxx mailing list.

As a reminder, the Friends of Eclipse Program (FEEP) uses the funds donated to the Eclipse Foundation to make direct improvements and enhancements to the Eclipse IDE/Platform. To make a donation, please visit www.eclipse.org/donate.
