EclipseCon
Sponsorship packages are in the process of being made and Ian would like
the marketing committee to offer up sponsorship ideas and well as define
what Eclipse wants to sell and offer.  Ian anticipate that sponsorship
packages should be available by Mid-September.

-    Need to determine whether the packages will be the same as last year
or changed
-    Need to determine Expo Hall hours
-    Need to determine if Pedestals should be turn key or exhibitors bring
their own booths
-    Discussion of 2 receptions around Expo Hall


Marketing Symposium
-    Carl Zetie and Steven O’Grady will be doing presentations.
-    Ian will send another email out urging member companies to sign up
since there is an August 29th deadline for hotel discount.

EclipseWorld
·    Donna Esposito of SD Times was not on call, therefore there were no
further updates
·    IBM is now exhibiting


Eclipse Seminar Series
The Eclipse Foundation is organizing a seminar series to raise Eclipse’s
visibility.

There will be a committee meeting this Thursday regarding seminar series.

o    Seminar Series Details
§    Content to address the business reasons why to use Eclipse
·    Content will be from Customers, Vendors, Analysts
o    Looking to get local customers to talk about how they are implementing
Eclipse
o    Looking for analysts to present about the business reasons for
implementing Eclipse

o    5 cities will be earmarked
o    Seminars to be day in length
§    First half of the day, the seminar would focus on Eclipse and open
source
§    Second half of the day would comprise user group meetings or perhaps
labs
o    To be held in fall, before Thanksgiving, or if logistics can’t be
established, then in January or February

·    Kevin Parker volunteered his team to help spearhead event management
