European Marketing Working Group Call Minutes on Eclipse Booth at CeBIT October 28, 2010 at 3:00 pm CET Next Call: Monday, November 8th, 16:00 CEST (same details as before, see bottom of email for registration) Confirmed companies: Actuate Bredex EclipseSource SOPERA - 1 SOPERA - 2 Instinctools TBD: SIGS Datacom, Suzanne Herl Inspire, Michael Otte Neelan,Choksi, TaskTop CeBIT 2010 results Qualified leads per company - 40-60 Postcard mailings - 3000 - demonstrates lots of traffic, but lead gen from the prize drawings was not very successful - high volume, no quality Open Source Park - had good traffic, located across from mini-theater from Linux mag Todos: - contact Linux New Media regarding Eclipse series in the Forum (Pluspol has contact) - Snezana propose an Eclipse demoCamp format, invite Ralph to join meeting - Katharina will ask Frau Seifert to send the initial contracts and info on included services - Katharina will also inquire about booth design - open all sides, hanging banners, etc - Create Eclipse flags for better branding on the booth - Susan - invite Mr Frank, PlusPol to the next call - Katharina - find out if Robbie robot would be allowed at CeBIT - Snezana Timeline: October 2010 - confirm participating companies by 29th Oct November 2010 - details of exhibitor benefits (eg. same as last year?) - on a call that includes Mr. Frank, Pluspol - exhibit design - demo area, signage, banners, space for roll ups, AV arrangements (need better ways to highlight the company names on the stands as well as the Eclipse Foundation in general) - submissions for talks ( Linux New Media demoCamp ) - optimize hotel block - Novotel - joint giveaways December 2010 - production - banners, signs, standblende January 2011 - joint promotion - PR, blogs, newsletters, etc - release unbooked hotel rooms (6 weeks prior) February 2011 - demo schedule Notes: - extended deadline to end of October - Pluspol however, has been flexible in terms of new participants Registration fee - last year, Pluspol paid the fees to Deutsche Messe on our behalf because they needed to fill the space - instead of reducing fees, we should negotiate for more space - EF will not have its own ped; a listing would also be EUR 300 - SIGS Datacom - EUR 300, plus 1,000 Ideas: - Demo area or meeting area in the booth - Reception for guests by invitation - would need separate area - Pluspol did open source party last year - Participate more in press events and have a joint press release - Poster - TBD - SIGS datacom - insert about the Eclipse Island - organize discount for Hotel in Hildesheim - facebook/twitter posts - organized so that all companies on the booth prepare 1 post per day and publish under the eclipse logo - Robbie Roboter - EUR 300 / day The Link for advertising with Robbie Roberter at the cebit booth. http://www.robbie-werbung.de/ there are 4
