Eclipse Foundation has budget to contribute one plug-in booth or EUR 3,000. Weigle Wilczek and Innoopract will likely participate. Eclipse Brochures - Ian Please send Ian your feedback on the Foundation and Membership brochures. http://wiki.eclipse.org/Marketing_Resources#Brochures 2 - Eclipse Summit Europe 2008 - Ralph / Ian Sponsor information packages - should be out by the end of this week - Ralph Marketing WG Workshop program proposal and logistics update (date/time) - Ian Tuesday, November 18th, 09:00-12:00 - open to Foundation members only Proposed Presentations: -Industry analyst on open source and enterprise -Selecting content that effectively targets developers - Experience reports - 15 min on topics such as promoting on eclipse.org, data collector information - 1 hour brainstorming session - how to sell eclipse to senior executives - Location selection process for ESE 2009 - Ralph Toulouse visit was successful - however, the location is roughly 1/3 more expensive than Ludwigsburg Program may expand to 3 days, would like to grow to 600 attendees - need to confirm that it will be possible in Toulouse venue Team will survey sponsors regarding their support for an event to be held in Toulouse - Itemis - +1 - Ericsson - +1 - Does Toulouse conflict with Eclipse NYC? historically, they were in the same week to share speakers, in the same way as Jax shares speakers with EclipsIST in the spring team will consult Eclipse NYC organizers - Should the sponsorship structure change? current is one sponsorship level - booth, website space, printed materials, 2 free conference passes, access to job board change would be to include higher sponsorship levels with increased sponsorship features, such as sponsored talks - Ian offered to help bring this topic forward in various venues over the coming weeks - Jocya from Anyware will send information about Toulouse and Toulouse opportunities to this mailing list - Patrick from Itemis will provide information about Karlsruhe as alternative 3 Other Items Day of the week / Time for regular call - every second Tuesday at 15:00 CET CeBit - Linux Magazin open source area - interested companies should contact Ian Banking Day, New York City, December 9th - call for sponsors - Morgen Stanley is hosting event at their site - talks from banks and Eclipse Projects - Morgen Stanley, Bank of America, etc - 100-150 attendees, architects, senior development managers Banking Day, London - Jan/Feb - TBC - Weigle Wilczek, Actuate and Instantiations expressed interest OSGi poster from Software and Support Verlag - to be published in December issue of JavaMagazin - roughly EUR 3500 to have logo included on poster - contact Joern and Nadja for information about content - deadline for participation is October 29th - Nadja will send info to mailing list 4. Banking Day, future Insurance Day is being planned Stammtisch - organizing and promoting - Software and Support Verlag has announced the last ones in Bonn and Frankfurt on their web properties Image Advertising - deferred to the group to bring this forward it if seems feasible as an initiative for the WG Country-specific programs - information about eclipse outreach in various European regions and countries Brochure translation - translate the brochure content for member use 5. Appeared already at the eclipse banking day. - Eclipse Demo Camps - a new round of demo camps is planned for November 2008. The camps are publicized on eclipse.org and each camp is supported up to USD 300.00 by the Eclipse Foundation.
