Re: [eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] Eclipse Oracle M2M submission

What you mean with involve him in a different way ? The decision of the Eclipse PC is final as of last night. The OSGi PC is in luxury position to old reject 3 talks out of 35. (and yes I am jealous :-)
We had to reject over 100 talks and accepted only 78. So there is no space left for a standard talk. So chances to be accepted in your part of the program are slightly higher. But of course its your call whether it makes sense to reopen or not.

Maybe you have another idea for involvement ?

christian

p.s. beyond that I am starting to get annoyed that this the second big player that contacts me on the day AFTER the selection is final. SAP emailed me TODAY whether they can submit a yet new session which is not public at all, not in the system etc…. But thats obviously nothing you do but just life …. :-)

Sebastian:
This is a pity, but thanks for the message.

We already have finalized our submission review and it wouldn't make sense to re-open it. It's just a shame because of the good news it would provide (but I agree, the abstract doesn't show). Maybe we can involve him in a different way, so that he speaks about Oracle's involvement with OSGi in the M2M market?

Best,
Susan

Hi Susan,

I'm afraid the submission was rejected by us. Do you want to reconsider it as part of the OSGi track?

Best regards,
Sebastian

All:

I have been contacted by Rainer Eschrich, Oracle M2M Lead Europe, who would like to know whether his submission has been considered and approved.

Having an official statement from Oracle, that they use OSGi in the M2M market, is a good announcement that would create some noise! However, he assumed he submitted under the OSGi track but submitted under M2M/Embedded instead.

Accordingly, the decision is with the Eclipse Program Committee and I would like to know whether his submission has been approved by you.

Please let me know.
Thanks,
Susan

P.S. I have difficulties with accessing the ECE web site - something to be solved between Anne and I and in progress. So the answer might be there, but I cannot access it.

hi

just a quick note for everyone concerning this submission http://www.eclipsecon.org/europe2013/which-ui-technology-should-i-marry

Its currently voted to be in the program. I asked BSI to redo their abstract to make it clearer and better to understand. I think that went successful. Please read if you interested. No need to change your vote, since its already in, but maybe you feel better :-) that its in the program, no that the abstract makes more sense….
