[eclipse.org-eclipsecon-program-committee] The FIRST track description: OSGi
|
OSGi(TM) technology forms the foundation of Eclipse, it provides the
dynamic component framework that enables Eclipse plugins (bundles) to
work together. OSGi Techology consists of a small framework with a set
of standardized services. The framework allows applications to
collaborate in a single VM through a dynamic service model. It is
beneficial to use OSGi technology in most Java applications: embedded,
client, and server. OSGi technology is widely supported by the
industry with several major open source projects implementing the OSGi
specifications (Apache Felix, Eclipse Equinox, Knopflerfish,
Concierge), many commercial implementations and also standardized
through the JCP. This year, the OSGi Alliance again holds its
Developers' Conference via the OSGi track at EclipseCon 2008.
