Re: [eclipse.org-committers] Good Bye, CVS

Orbit has been given the single exception. Orbit's CVS repository will drop down from a "tier 1" service to a "tier 3" service.

There is some discussion here: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=349048

In 2013Q1, we need to sort out the migration story for Orbit. My sense is that it involves Maven and that it needs to be resolved early in 2013.

Denis,

What's happening with Orbit? Last I looked, it didn't have a git repo (at least not under orbit). The Orbit FAQ still talks about CVS.

Thanks,
Greg

Greetings,

It is official: as of noon (Eastern time) today, CVS has been shut down on the Eclipse.org servers. The CVS files are still in place and committers can still access them in a read-only fashion. Once the dust has settled, we will ZIP all the /cvsroot directories up and put them on the Archives server.

The background story and community kudos can be found in Mike Milinkovich's blog post:
