Actually, I encourage members to bring their new member suggestions directly to the Architecture Council.

The process is this: make the suggestion during the monthly call; if the reception is generally positive (i.e. we don't run the risk of embarrassing the nominee in a public forum), then we'll ask you to first confirm with the individual that they'll accept the position, and then  nominate the person on the mailing list and call for a public vote.

After that, the AC chair brings the results to the EMO and we make it happen.
