Re: [eclipse.org-architecture-council] AC 13-Jul-2017 Meeting Notes

Wayne,

there is bug 509929 about this. There Ed Merks says that ~30% of the entries are bogus (1700 entries * 30% = 510 invalid entries). Reporting entries one-by-one as soon as a committer experiences them, certainly will not scale well :-)

However, bug 509929 also makes clear that we got stuck here. We need someone who has the required powers, skills (i.e., access to the required data), and time to drive this effort.

I don’t know anything about which resources are available. Thus, I’m asking whether doing this is possible or not. Ed may kindly provide the list of  all bogus entries, but the EF/Webteam needs to say whether they have the resources to actually take the necessary actions at least one once (but in near future).

Marcel

I don't have any superpowers on Marketplace. It's best to connect with the marketplace team directly when you find problematic entries.

Note that some reaping of marketplace entries does occur. The team that maintains the marketplace removes any entries that it identifies as bogus. If you do notice one that's broken, send a link to marketplace@xxxxxxxxxxx.

The team is certainly interested in ideas for either automating or streamlining mitigation of bogus/broken entries.
