Apparently the AC mailing list is a closed list and only AC members can
subscribe and post to it. One of AC's objective is "to keep the communities
vibrant and cohesive because this will benefit us all.". IMHO, vibrant open
source communities thrive on openness and are hurt by the opposite.

Unless someone can give a very convincing argument as to why it is a closed
list, I suggest that the status is changed so that anyone can both subscribe
and post to this list.
