I like the tone of your proposed wording, but I  think you'd have to clarify what versions you mean. 
I assume you mean "on GTK Versions prior to 3.10" ?

It could also be mistaken as "Linux Kernel Versions prior to 3.10" or "Equinox versions prior to 3.10" or even something else...

 Linux builds come with GTK+ 3 support enabled by default on versions prior to 3.10, versions newer than that will fallback to GTK+ 2.x by default for maximum stability.
