Re: [eclipse-pmc] One Eclipse project is still using CVS

The wall of shame is generated by adding parameters to the "status" page.

git=0 means "no git"
cvs=1 means "uses cvs"
top=eclipse means only show the Eclipse top-level project

The list gets filtered by the conjunction of these parameters.

The list got shorter when you changed the source repositories metadata entry so that eclipse.platform.releng was no longer CVS-only.

You can get the full list of Eclipse projects by changing the URL:

http://eclipse.org/projects/tools/status.php?top=eclipse

I haven't added UI elements to modify filters, but may at some point.

It might also be a good idea to add a message that describes explicitly how the page is filtered.

I've fixed the eclipsebuilder metadata. It move a while back.

And, yes, my year ends on M4. :)

Speaking of metadata, is this "wall of shame" URL supposed to show something for "eclipse"? Anything? Is this a sign something else is wrong with metadata? Or, just a PHP or tool quirk?

http://eclipse.org/projects/tools/status.php?git=0&cvs=1&top=eclipse

Thanks for the reminders,

There are two CVS repositories listed in the project metadata.

/cvsroot/eclipse/org.eclipse.releng.basebuilder
/cvsroot/eclipse/org.eclipse.releng.eclipsebuilder

Is eclipsebuilder included in your plan?

Does your year end on December 21/2012? :-)

I think we are all done, except for one cvs project, org.eclipse.releng.basebuilder, and that is one we don't want to blindly put in git (because it is mostly a whole lot of binary copies of sdk bundles -- 4 Gigabyte's worth) but instead move two or three small projects into git and then build with SDK. Tracked in bug 324682.

Its on my list of things-to-do this year, so, yes, almost ready.

That's all I am aware of.

Greetings Eclipse PMC.

The eclipse.platform.releng project is still using CVS. The project metadata indicates that there are two CVS repositories still in use.

http://eclipse.org/projects/project.php?id=eclipse.platform.releng

Is this just inaccurate metadata, or does this repository need to be moved to Git?

Further, there seems to be ~450 directories under /cvsroot/eclipse that are potentially active (i.e. they still seem writeable to me).

Is the Eclipse project ready for the CVS shutdown?
