Can I really make my RCP application work in a browser?  The Rich Ajax Platform (RAP) was designed to bridge the gap between desktop- and web-development. To achieve this, RAP reuses the RCP development model integrating the largest possible subset of the RCP-APIs.  Ralf Sternberg and Ruediger Herrmann are presenting a webinar to explore the differences between RAP and RCP that are especially relevant to the goal of single sourcing as much code as possible.  They will cover a range of techniques and basic patterns to close the gap between RCP and RAP, for both existing RCP applications and new RCP/RAP projects.  They will also take a look at the roadmap for RAP and discuss possible steps for integrating the platform into e4.

With Galileo, DSF-GDB will be part of the CDT as an enhanced alternative to the current CDI solution for debugging C/C++ applications.  This webinar will show why Ericsson opted for the Debugging Services Framework (DSF) for some of its platforms and contributed to DSF-GDB, a full-fledge debugger integration. A demo of DSF-GDB will illustrate the standard debugging functions but also the recent GDB additions such as Reverse debugging, Multi-Process and Non-stop multi-thread debugging. The presentation will familiarize the CDT end-user with the new debugging features provided by DSF-GDB. In addition, the debugger integrator will have an insight into the possibilities offered by DSF and DSF-GDB, for customized solutions.

The goal of the Mobile Tools for Java (MTJ) project is to extend existing Eclipse frameworks to enable developers to develop, debug, and deploy mobile Java applications to emulators and real devices. The project develops frameworks that can be extended by tool vendors and tools that can be used by third-party developers.

 

Last year, two MTJ releases were made: 0.9 and 0.9.1. The MTJ team is presenting a webinar on the project's main features with an update on the latest features that have been introduced. They will also look at what will be available in the future.

The Babel project is an Eclipse initiative to translate in many languages. Companies that use Eclipse may rely on Babel to provide translations packaged as "language packs".
