[eclipse-dev] Performance and Polish (was: Re: Planning Meeting Notes - March 16, 2011)

The 3.7 polish list is now active, see http://wiki.eclipse.org/Polish3.7.
This wiki page collects and tracks the items that are important to us for
a polished 3.7 release. Feel free to add your own items to the
'Uncategorized' sections. The PMC will prioritize or remove them on a
regular basis and set the 'polish' keyword for bugs that got accepted.
Component leads please watch that page and do the best you can to resolve
the items according to the given priorities.

The 3.7 performance work is tracked by https://bugs.eclipse.org/313891.
All bugs blocking that root bug must be investigated for 3.7 as those
represent possible regressions compared to 3.6. Besides that, each team
needs to take a look at their own performance results and make sure they
are OK.

Important points from today's meeting:

- Daniel pointed out that M7 cycle is to focus on performance and
polishing. A wiki page will be added to keep track on what needs to be
done. All component owners should check for bugs tagged with the
"performance" keyword.
- Bogdan mentioned that people using GTK Linux I-build should keep on eye
on deadlocks wrt the fix for 280649 [1]
- Tom said that update issues have been found due to corrupted files in
the repo. Check bug 340615 [2] for details.
