fully agree. I wanted to remind you of the mistake KDE did with its 4.0 
release... even if it was clear that that 4.0 release was not feature 
complete, a developer release, resp. "for wider testing only", lots of people 
(and even some distros) started to adopt it... The result was lots of 
complaints from users, discussions between developers, bad press, etc. (*)

Why not name it 3.95 or 3.99 or something like that?
