Yes this is fine and seems to be the right precedent.

I appreciate everyone's efforts to discuss this and be sensitive to what's best for downstream adopters.

Also, I apologize for my earlier grumpy notes  ...

Re: bundle versions.
For 3.4, the PMC will veto any plugin version downgrading from 3.4M6 (API freeze). Plugin version upgrading (to reflect reality) is acceptable if properly motivated to the PMC.

David - on behalf of WTP - do you validate this strategy ?

- We decided to revert bundle version numbers to their state in M7, unless we detected that version numbers were not updated correctly with respect to 3.3.
- PMC approval is required for all changes to bundle version numbers (except qualifiers).
- Platform Team would like to disable functionality related to proxies to fix a crash issue and would like to know if anyone relies on this:
