The restriction was to be introduced in order to fix
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=209509.
Because the restriction is not comfy for clients that already subclassed
StatusAdapter and
there is a better way to address the bug 209509, the restriction is not
introduced.
Sorry for a momentary confusion.

The org.eclipse.ui.statushandlers.StatusAdapter class is not intended to be
subclassed.
This omission in the javadoc will be fixed in M6. An appropriate note will
be added to the migration guide.
