In order to talk to a widget from a background thread you need to use Display.syncExec() or Display.asyncExec().

Hi.

thanks for that, I am really starting to like the eclipse centric stuff,
but a couple things in SWT confuse me now and again and I usually just
re-implement them in a different way...... But nonetheless! I solved the
problem!!!! I just removed the progress bar and left a label there.
