It would also help if new users were specifically directed to the
eclipse.platform newsgroup for all "general" questions. The way it is now,
the platform newsgroup appears to be only for eclipse programmers. The only
user-oriented newsgroup is eclipse.tools.jdt. Therefore, when users have
questions that aren't related to Java, they come to the mailing lists.
