[eclipse-dev] newsgroup problems

Hi

The news.eclipse.org server crashed
this morning around 6:50 am EDT and had to be restarted with a hard reboot.
 The newsgroups are again experiencing the problems with indexes.
 I have stopped the newgroup service and it will be unavailable until
I can restore them from last night's backup. I anticipate this will take
several hours.

The good news is that I archived all
the newsgroups on Friday so they can be read online.

I will also be replacing the news.eclipse.org
server (which is also www.eclipse.org) with completely new hardware so
we do not experience this problem again. Please send any questions to webmaster@xxxxxxxxxxx.
