So...would someone please open a bug against Equinox for this?...perhaps we can get the TrustEngine class added to the Equinox supplemental (thus possibly reducing the number of features we need to have).

Please post the bug here, and I will join and make our features restructuring bug dependent upon it for added emphasis [1].
