[ecf-dev] ECF 3.7.0 problem...httpcomponents version back to 4.1

Hi Folks,

As some of you may recall, about two months ago I was asked via this bug [1] to update ECF's usage of apache httpcomponents from 4.1 to 4.2. As per this mailing list thread [2] and this entry [3] I made additions to the ecf.rmap file to include in the target platform the Orbit repo that has 4.2...which at that time was this integration build URL:

http://download.eclipse.org/tools/orbit/downloads/drops/I20130827062727/repository/

Well...if you were to click on this url you will find that it has since been removed, and so ECF 3.7.0 includes httpcomponents 4.1 rather than 4.2.

I've corrected the link to point to a recent repo that has 4.2, and this puts httpcomponents back into 4.2.

Now...*eventually* I would like to get the use of 4.2 back into ECF's repo...but given that ECF 3.7 was just released last wed, the question is: when to release this fix?

Some Options:

1) Create a 3.7.1 maintenance release right away (Oct 21)
2) Decide upon future date and release 3.7.1 maintenance

It seems to me the most pressing reason to release right away would be that EclipseCon Europe is next week, and it would be nice to have 3.7.1 available for that. But Wim and Markus are going, and I am not, so I don't know if that works for them.

Any thoughts/views on when I should create 3.7.1 with apache httpcomponents 4.2?

Thanks,

Scott
