[ecf-dev] Gerrit

Hi Folks,

In response to this enhancement request [1], the Eclipse Foundation has 
added support for Gerrit code reviews.  See documentation about Gerrit 
here [2]...along with links to other relevant things (git, egit, etc).

I would like to propose enabling Gerrit for the ECF project.  I know 
we've discussed this before ([3]), but unlike before...it now it seems 
to me would be a good time (early in next release cycle, etc).

Any thoughts/comments?  And Alex (if you are listening)...Have some of 
the issues/wrinkles mentioned in [3] been worked out since?

My inclination, BTW, is that when we do starting using gerrit, direct 
commits/pushes to master will still be allowed in limited 
circumstances...but that especially later in the release process (closer 
to releases)...will be discouraged.
