[ecf-dev] ECF 3.5.1 final build on May 17

Hi Folks,

This is an update on the ECF 3.5.1 release. The p2/platform folks have requested that ECF 3.5.1 be made available to them by May 17 [1]. I will do the final release build on the evening (pacific time) on May 17. Between now and then, please do not make any changes to the codebase without an associated bug report. We now have resolved almost all bugs targeted for 3.5.1.

I would appreciate some assistance with testing the 3.5.1 install...and some basic smoke testing. You can get a zip of a very recent build of ECF here [2] or a direct p2 repo here [3]. If you find install issues...or other issues...please open a bug report immediately...set the target as 3.5.1, and give it (at least) major severity. Thanks.

BTW...some great news: We have been able to get access to the OSGi Remote Service Admin (RSA) Test Compatibility Kit (TCK). This is a set of junit tests for verifying implementation compliance with the OSGi Enterprise RSA specification. Over the past couple of months (since we've had access to the TCK), I and Markus have been running the ECF RSA impl against the TCK and fixing compliance issues in our implementation. As of now, ECF's implementation is passing all TCK tests! This is very good...and although there are some formal hoops to jump through to claim full compliance, ECF's 3.5.1 implementation is very close.

Thanks,

Scott
