Thanks for the pointer. It would be odd for an Eclipse project to point people outside eclipse.org for the official project examples. Actually, that brings up a couple things about these (and other?) examples.
- What is the licensing?
- The org.eclipse.* package and bundle naming should only be used for code that is actually at eclipse.org
Licensing is particularly important to tell developers if they can cut and paste the example code into their apps (e.g., use EDL). The package naming topic is related in that that name assures consumers that the Eclipse development process was used in creating the code. This is outlined in the Eclipse trademark and usage guidelines [0].
