Hi,

Plenty of traction on marketplace as it seems:

Yes, this is very good. Thanks for going to the trouble to setup the marketplace distribution.

This to follow up my old rant about us not knowing who our consumers are.

FWIW, I agree with you completely about the need to increase the information that the projects receive from receivers/downloaders...not in terms of number of downloads (which, of course, the Foundation tracks and reports to the Board/commercial membership...at least for the SDK and perhaps for others), but in terms of *connecting consumers directly with project team committers*. This is always helpful, both to the consumers (who need support and generally want to make feature requests and expose other use cases), and to the project teams (who can provide the support...and want to get info about other use cases, and requests for new features). I would argue that this need is particularly acute for projects like ECF...but sadly I think the problem is that the Foundation isn't particularly sensitive to the needs of projects like ECF...and their consumers...as compared to consumers of Eclipse and the commercial membership.

In any event, I am in full support of the efforts to address this issue more fully...and to help projects like ECF and it's consumer's communicate more frequently and effectively.

BTW, ECF also has an 'adopters' wiki page where ECF consumers can voluntarily make themselves known...to the project team and the community: http://wiki.eclipse.org/ECF/Adopters. I would urge everyone that can make themselves known to do so...it will help the entire community.
