Re: [ecf-dev] Link-Local Messaging based on XMPP

Hi Roland and Dann,

We are in the process of moving from Smack 2.2.1 (what ECF 3.0 used/is using) to Smack 3.1.0. See this bug for info

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=276879

There has been and is going to be a lot of work adding things like Google services to the xmpp provider https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=287337, as well as other things over the next release cycle. So it seems to me likely that with the appropriate contributions adding things JEP-0174

Hi Roland,

I haven't played with this feature yet; but it would appear that in the
Smack 3.0 branch, there has been some work done to implement this.
(see: http://www.igniterealtime.org/issues/browse/SMACK-262)

If I am not mistaken, ECF does use Smack as well; in which case you need
to check for the current Smack version in use.

According to this
http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/ecf-dev/msg02720.html, Smack 3.1
might already be in there.

Best regards,
 Dann

Hi,
I would like to implement a Link-Local-support based on XMPP for the ECF.
My question:
Exists there already any sourcecode or working group in this direction?

Roland
