[ecf-dev] Re: ecf-dev Digest, Vol 34, Issue 9 RE: ECF Conference call 5/13/2008

Hi,

sheduling the conference 1 hr later ( i.e. Tuesday at 2030 UTC) will be perfect for me. Between 9:00am and 4pm CEST (UTC+2) as suggested by Markus doesn't work very well for me as a private consultant working mainly from my clients premises.

Regards,
Roland.

That sounds great.

What this makes possible is the secure storage of ECF ID
instances, and their subsequent use as keys in a
simple database for holding associated information (e.g. passwords, other
user account credentials, user data, etc).

Currently - when testing changes to Cola - I fire up two Eclipse
target instances and connect to two different XMPP accounts. This
requires for the account passwords to be typed in manually each time.

So this API could be utilized to get around this, right?

Yes.

Are others interested in working together on this?

Yes.

Btw, do we have a conference call scheduled soon? I'd like to learn
what you all think about us using Guido van Rossum's recently released
Rietveld Code Review tool.

I've scheduled one for tomorrow 5/13/2008 at 1930 UTC. See

http://wiki.eclipse.org/Eclipse_Communication_Framework_Project

Also put appointment in Google Calendar for ECF:

To make up for not having one as scheduled last week (5/6/2008) we'll
have one Tues 5/13.

Hi,

I won't be able to join.
Might it be possible to have the call on an alternating schedule time
wise? I don't exactly know where most of the committers are located, but
on the central European end 9:30pm most of the time collides with
friends & family.

Cheers
Markus

Hi Markus,

It would be possible to have a different time...but the committers need to

1) Speak up with own constraints when asked about day/time
2) Actually attend when we settle on something

Please poll the committers (1) and find a more agreeable day/time for all.

My own constraints: After 9am PT. Not on Monday. Before 9pm PT.

Scott

We don't need to move it in general but e.g. have every other meeting in
  a more European compatible timeslot.

My constraints: Monday to Thursday between 9:00am and 4pm CEST (UTC+2).

I'd have to narrow down the timeslot a little more.

Either Tuesday or Wednesday between 1pm and 4pm CEST (UTC+2). The
upper bound is not strict in my case.

I don't have any time constraints that could be expressed by a simple
formula other than: No close paper deadline around: anytime(*), close paper
deadline around: no chance :-)

(*) preferably either between 12:00pm and 5:00pm CEST so that I can call in
from the office, or after 7:00pm CEST so that I can call from home.

Cheers,

Jan.
