[e4-dev] Milestone M7 schedule reminder / test pass tomorrow **Please Read**

Hi everybody,

We have 4.2 builds scheduled for today at 13:00 and 18:00 EDT.  That means the last changes for 4.2 must be made by 18:00 EDT today.

I've schedule 2 e4 0.12 I builds for 16:00 and 21:00 EDT to consume the matching 4.2 I builds.  That means the last changes for e4 0.12 (model tools, css spy, css editor, SFS, etc) must be in by 21:00 EDT.

Tuesday is our all day M7 test pass.  Please read our test plan http://wiki.eclipse.org/Platform_UI/Testing and adapt the tests to areas you are working in.

#1 priority is to verify our bugs from the first section.  There are >60 bugs we need to verify tomorrow.  Then focus on the checklist, and I've updated the Component Test Areas to include Curtis and Michael.

I'd also try creating Eclipse4 applications, and using the model editor, CSS editor, and CSS Spy from http://download.eclipse.org/e4/updates/0.12-I-builds

We should expect to be testing with 4.2 I20120430-1800 and with e4 0.12 I20120430-2100.

Starting at the end of the day tomorrow, we can fix regression or bugs discovered during our test pass (but not bugs that exist already, unless they're deemed blockers).  Before you fix a bug, please announce it to e4-dev@xxxxxxxxxxx or platform-ui-dev@xxxxxxxxxxx as appropriate.  We'll have I builds on Wednesday to pick up any fixes we need to put in.

The 4.2 M7 build schedule can be found at http://www.eclipse.org/eclipse/platform-releng/buildSchedule.html.  We'll try and schedule 0.12 builds for about 3 hours after the 4.2 build.

Starting next week we're in our 4.2 end game.  This really restricts the kind of changes we can make and the approval we need.  Please read the policy and dates at http://www.eclipse.org/eclipse/development/plans/freeze_plan_4_2.php

We'll be available on irc://freenode.net/#eclipse-dev and irc://freenode.net/#eclipse-e4 for quicker communication.  Otherwise please use the dev mailing lists.

Later,
PW
