Re: [e4-dev] Model Tooling Endgame

Drag and Drop for parts would be great, I opened a Bug: https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=318246

Hi,

I've worked a lot on the model tooling in the last few days to
integrated feedback I got from Brian and some other todos I had on my
list since a long time.

If someone here is using it (Lars already filed me a bug for some
enhancements) and found problems, misses features, I'd be very happy to
here about them.

I guess one of the coolest things is that when installing the latest
tooling-feature you can hit CTRL+SHIFT+I (on all systems there's no
difference for OS-X) to bring up the model currently making up your
running e4-Instance (not matter if it is the 4.0 SDK, the contact demo,
...) and you can even modify it in there (the code is the same you use
at development time) :-)

A cool thing would be if I'd managed to take part in the refactoring
system but I'm not very familiar with this part of Eclipse. If anyone
here has and could spend some time contributing it or explaining me how
to do it this would be really great.

Some screenshots are available from my blog
