On the e4 call we discussed the "end-game" for the release.
We normally keep a "polish" page for a release to focus on items that are important for shipping. Since we already have an issues list that itemizes the major issues for self-hosting using the Eclipse SDK 4.0, we decided to refocus that page on items we need to fix for the release. [1]
I've done a slight reorg of the page. Initially the p1 items were "blockers for self-hosting." Since those have been cleared, I promoted everything up a level, so that p1 items now represent "severe" items for Eclipse SDK 4.0 users. In other words, these things don't prevent *US* from self-hosting, but they would be perceived as blockers/critical loss of function for actual end users.
As I moved the items up a level, I did decide in some cases (the old p3 list) that some items should move up to p2 and some should stay at p3. In that sense, I didn't "demote" anyone's perceived priority, but I did decide in some cases not to automatically raise it a level.
All this is to say:
- if you have issues on this list, please revisit the page and make sure you are comfortable with what priority your item is in the list
- please add items to this list. If you've been holding back, thinking, "surely this will be fixed before we ship, it's not critical for our self hosting," now is the time to make sure that the item gets listed.
