I've put this comment in the bug as
well, but...

my mind, this qualifies as a new feature for the DTP 1.6 stream, so it
wouldn't qualify for a maintenance release. Definitely for Galileo, but
I'm
going to vote against this for 1.6.2 unless you can prove that there was
a bug
that this is fixing for existing functionality."

I'm open to other opinions, but
that's mine at present.
