[dtp-pmc] DTP PMC Meeting Minutes for 9/14

Attendees
---------------
John
Linda

Minutes
----------
** No PMC meeting next week, 9/22, because of the Eclipse Members' Meeting
**

> Each project team continues to work on project plans in conjunction with
requests from the PMC
> The PMC would like to have a consolidated project plan published by early
October. This would allow 6 weeks or so to wrap up milestone 1 deliverables
> Milestone 1 (due mid-November) contains the base models and connectivity
framework. The models are in place, and an initial code line for
connectivity is present in CVS
> The idea of building DTP 0.N and 1.0 on Eclipse 3.1 and testing to
certify on Eclipse 3.2 is accepted by the community as a good solution
meeting both the requirements of organizations releasing before Eclipse 3.2
is final, and the desire to participate in the proposed Eclipse 3.2 release
train.
> The Data Source Explorer team continues to evaluate possibilities for
consolidation between Sybase's Explorer and WTP's Explorer. Interaction
with the platform team is also expected.
> The SQL Dev Tools project leads will have a face-to-face meeting this
Friday, 9/16, to flesh out that project's plans and architecture
> The PMC has received a contribution offer from Bryan Hunt (see PMC
mailing list archives for message). When the PMC meetings reconvene in two
weeks, the PMC should study and make a recommendation about that offer.
> The deadlines for EclipseCon '06 submissions are early November, so the
PMC should start working with the community to coordinate DTP-related
submissions
> John attended the first meeting of the Boston Eclipse Developers' Group
(www.bostonedge.org) meeting on 9/13. About 50 people were present,
ranging from beginners to very advanced. A number of people expressed
interest in DTP. bostonEdge seems like it will be a good forum for
discussion of DTP and other Eclipse initiatives.

** A separate email will be sent to PMC members regarding the possibility
of re-scheduling the regular PMC call. **

Regards,
John Graham
