Re: [dtp-dev] StringIndexOutOfBoundsException from GenericDBProfileDetailsWizardPage

Anthos,

Thanks for the tip and testing it out.  I have replaced both calls to setEchoChar() in the DTP Connectivity subproject with the SWT.PASSWORD style.

In fact, I just tested this change on Mac and seemed to fix this issue.

Hi

Can I suggest to use SWT.PASSWORD style instead of using .setEchoChar() in GenericDBProfileDetailsWizardPage.java ? Somehow the hiddenText attribute of the GenericDBProfileDetailsWizardPage.mDBPWDText doesnot seem to get set.

Anthos

Anthos,

Unfortunately without access to Mac OSX, I would be unable to verify a fix for this defect, so I would suggest opening a defect against the Eclipse Platform's SWT component.

I still this issue on Mac. Though

GenericDBProfileDetailsWizardPage:111 - this.mDBPWDText.setEchoChar('*');

the actual value is echoed on GUI for the password. I think these issues are related. Only way out is to use null password and Oracle doesnot permit null password :-(

This looks like it could be a defect in SWT for Mac OSX.  Are you able to reproduce this on anothor platform such as Linux or Windows?
