Re: [dsdp-tcf-dev] TCF Reference Agent

Cool. Thanks Aaron. I think the common theme is to make the reference agent more flexible so that we can plug and play services more easily especially as we target different types of platforms. Any thoughts on how that could be done better would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Doug.

Hi Doug,
We are just starting on that path at Mentor. In our
immediate use case we plan to use the reference agent, perhaps with some
services peeled out as the framework for a real-time trace collection
daemon. What we plan is a bit non standard though. The agent
will be serving as a proxy for other data, that is that the registers, file and
maybe streaming services will actually be serving something other that the
registers/files/etc of the machine that the agent is running on. I
will confess that I have not personally done anything yet other than poke around
the agent code and look, so I am not sure how radical a refactoring we would be
needing to do. Perhaps you are thinking about the same things and plan to
introduce a layer that decouples the protocol from the implementation a bit
more?

Hey gang,
I have a group in Wind River looking at improvements to the TCF reference
agent (more on that to come). But I was wondering if there was anyone actually
using the reference agent. Please help us and let us know here on the
list.
Thanks,
Doug.
