Michael,
I've just tried out the latest sources from SVN and I can successfully
connect to the localhost via TCF.
What I did was:
1) checked out the sources;
2) built the agent;
3) run it on my machine;
4) run eclipse with TCF plugins;
5) created new TCF connection 127.0.0.1-tcf.

I can see a file tree and I can see a process tree.
The picture is attached.

What happens when you create a TCF connection?
Maybe something interesting is in the error log...

PS. I'm on Linux. Which OS do you use?
