RE: [dsdp-pmc] Re: Voting ends for Eclipse Sequoyah on Helios train

Hi David,

since our charter has it that any kind of voting should take a week at least (unless all people
entitled to vote give their vote earlier), I do not think we will have an official DSDP PMC Rep
before a week.

Since the PMC by vote approved Erics request, I do not think that such process subtleties
should hinder the request. Thus, could you please make the exceptional exception and
ask the PC members?!

Thanks!
Martin

If not obvious, the reason I was asking is that our Planning Council Exception process requires the PMCs Planning Council representative to come forward with the exception.
(not me) and gain two other supporting votes from the Planning Council. See
http://www.eclipse.org/helios/planning/EclipseSimultaneousRelease.php#pcExceptionProcess

If you get your representative named in a day or two, I think it best for that person to go ahead and go forward with the Exception Request.

If it is going to be more like a week or two, I'm glad to make an exception (to the exception :) and I would take it forward. That I do not like to take exceptions
forward has nothing to do with Eric's request, or me being lazy ... it is just one technique I use to make sure the Planning Council as a whole is responsible for the
release ... and not just me deciding everything. I have told the Planning Council I will normally abstain from all exception votes.

So let me know ... a day or two? or a week or two?

In either case,  I am happy to help ... just let me know what help you need.

Thanks,

Martin,

I don't mind being your backup on the PC. I should listen in on a few of these so I understand the role. I will have to defer on the AC role to those who actually write Eclipse code as a part of their day job.

Hm...

Looks like we missed that one of Doug's responsibilities.

Volunteers for representing DSDP on the Planning Council,
Please step forward!

I could take the job if the PMC wants me to, provided that
somebody else agrees to be DSDP backup rep on the architecture
council as per my previous request (for the case that
meetings collide). Of course a backup rep for the PC would
be good too.

Thanks

Martin

Foundation DB thinks it's Doug Gaff. It looks like the PMC is going to
have to nominate someone.
