RE: [dsdp-mtj-dev] MTJ Community Conference Call June17th.Conference Code: 9190565826

hi doug,

we are strongly considering this option. is there already some initial planning for the 2009 release train ? besides that, is there a list of requirements to be on the train? (similar to what is available for Ganymede - http://wiki.eclipse.org/Ganymede#Must_Do)

Strong +1 on MTJ 2009

I’m not qualified to comment on the GUI builder point.

Eric,

Please feel free to utterly ignore me, but I cannot resist the temptation to offer my perspective on a few of your points.

·         Roadmap/release schedule: If possible, I think it would be great if MTJ was included in the 2009 annual release train. Inclusion in the release train has generally been helpful in increasing commercial and user adoption for Eclipse projects.

·         GUI Builder: The VE project is clearly in need of some TLC. But you might want to keep in mind that AIUI the original design point for VE was to separate the VM the GUI was running in from the VM running the tool. That concept may have some helpful implications for a GUI builder for mobile. Perhaps J

[Resending with corrected subject line.]

Everyone,

It's time for a conference call on MTJ to go over the progress to date and next action items. How does Tuesday, June 17th at 11:00 AM PDT sound to everyone?

Conference Code: 9190565826

Conference Agenda:

  • Confirm the current scope as documented on the Wiki pages.
  • Go through the status and assign a responsible party for each of the activity
  • Understand the next steps to do the official release (moving from a nightly build to an integration build, stable build and finally the release after a few release candidates? In between the releases there may be maintenance builds. We should also set dates for each of the intended builds – you can see an example here, for Ganymede: http://wiki.eclipse.org/Ganymede_Simultaneous_Release, see Milestones and Release Candidates)
  • Preverifier status summary
  • Proposals for a MTJ roadmap items in the 2008/2009 timeframe
  • Integration of Non-UEI SDKs, is it possible, what are the missing pieces (documentation?)
  • Supported platforms?
  • GUI builders: Should we have one? Does anyone actually use LCD UI? Can we integrate with commercial ones? How would we deal with generated code?

·         Other items as added by participants on call
