We are working on a getting started guide for new contributors.
Unfortunately, it is not final yet but you can find it here.

to comment on the guide your feedback is valuable since we are trying
to make it useful for you.

eRCP spans several interest areas and platforms. A good way to get
involved in the project is to have a look at the current bug reports
and provide patches for them. You can see a list of open bugs for the
eRCP project here [1]. There is always an interest for getting eSWT
into new platforms.
