Re: [Dltk-dev] Next steps for the DLTK project

I've opened a bug about it https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=446122 . It's not about restructuring or changing build system but about making it simpler for newcomer to get everything cloned and ready to build.

Hi,

I would say build system is good enough at the moment - it is tycho based, only the parent pom is in the separate "releng" repository.
Having a separate repository per language kind of makes sense (and ideally, languages should be separate subprojects).

Alex

I would appreciate updated and simplified build system - aka smth like platfrom.releng.aggregator or mylyn where there is a single git repo which one can clone and do a full build in it. That would be huge improvement over the current state.

Hi,

The committer election process just finished for me and I have been provisioned with all necessary permissions. Thanks for Andrei Sobolev for nominating me and for the positive votes of the rest of the committers.

Here is my plan as first thing to do in DLTK:
1. Include DLTK 5.1 in Luna SR2 and Mars M3.
2. Setup Gerrit for easier review of proposed patches.
3. Request HIPP instance for DLTK to make future release engineering changes easier.
4. Check all pending patches.

I don't have knowledge for the complete source base of DLTK, so for reviewing patches I will need the help of all you who are interested in DLTK going forward. Hopefully, Gerrit will make this process easier.

Is there anything I miss?

Greetings,
Kaloyan
