Re: [dali-dev] JPA projects

Hi,

Yes and yes. As long as the JPA facet is installed (in any compatible faceted project), the expectation is that all relevant JPA functionality should be available. Based on what facets are installed, we might customize validation for a given configuration, but this may not be something we get to for 1.0. In either case, functionality in general should be equivalent.

There are plans to eventually contribute content to the common navigator. We've discussed having a comprehensive persistence.xml or Persistent Unit tree in the navigator that would allow navigation to Entities, etc., which would be really nice to have . Unfortunately this feature will have to be deferred given resource and time constraints for 1.0. With additional development help, this feature might be possible for 1.0, but at this point it may already be too late.

Hi team, wanted to ask about the JPA project introduced in the 1.0 builds... is there any Dali functionality that is unique to these project types? i.e. When other faceted project types, like EJB projects, are used with the JPA facet enabled, can we expect equivalent functionality?

Also one other question, are there any plans in the future to contribute to the WTP project navigator? i.e. to display JPA entities in a similar manner to how EJB 2.x beans are displayed today?

Thanks,
Len.
